Er...*thinks* I read one of your stories and I think we commented back and forth or something. ...or something. However it went, I asked if it was ok to friend you and you said yes. That brings my grand total of people on my friends list up to...not very many. lol I'm so freakin' picky.

Me too, so don't worry. I simply put up this friends only banner because I had random ppl friend me without so much as ever leaving a comment anywhere or telling me where they know me from...and that's just not okay in my book. Yet I feel compelled to friend these people back because I feel like an ass if I don't.

So this Friends Only message is really just to instate a policy on friending so that the rules are clear (and I feel better haha)

Oh I totally agree about the random friending thing.

One of the first things I noticed on LJ when I first made my journal is that it's polite to ask before friending someone or at least say, "I friended you, hope you don't mind."

And even then, my own personal rules state that I don't ask out of the blue and I only ask after I've commented or had a conversation or something. It's just kinda weird otherwise.

I've ended up friending one or two people who came out of the blue because I felt guilty too. I don't really talk to them at all and they're mostly filtered out because I've no clue who they are or what they're like. :-O

Exactly! I friended a couple of people because I felt somehow compelled to. I don't want to offend anyone, especially when I don't really know them...but the truth is, I feel kinda strange about some of them, mostly because I have no freaking idea what they are about haha
